Writer in Residence

New year. New blog. This one focuses on writing in residence–the lives of writers while serving in residence. As WIR for organizations like The Island Institute in Sitka, Alaska, and Hedgebook in Langley, Washington, I became aware that the occupation suited me perfectly–as I imagine it did those others who wore the WIR badge of honor. Therefore I dedicate this blog to writing in residence, no matter where we are. I have come to understand that wherever we travel, or if we stay home, the writer is resident in us.  For writers, wherever we go, there we are–writing!

What is your experience as writer in residence?
